Time of Webinar: 12:00 - 1:00 pm CST
Quorum leaders and specialists share insights and winning
strategies to help trustees effectively lead their hospitals in today’s
changing healthcare landscape.
Topic: Putting a Consumer Approach on Strategic Planning
Using industry trends and anecdotal experience, attendees will better understand why the consumer should be the focus of the hospital’s strategic planning process. Historically, patients were passive participants in decisions relating to care, as well as payment for medical services. Today, patients are proactive consumers, as payment risk increases, and technology evolves consumers are now engaged and expect a different model of care.
Increased consumerism is driven by:
- Change in generational attitudes about the role in healthcare decisions
- Greater financial responsibility from high deductible health plans and employer cost sharing
- Increasing availability of healthcare information
- Attractive, low cost technology or retail options for primary care
Who Should Attend:
- Board Members
- CEOs
- CFOs
- CMOs
- Strategy Executives
Learning Objectives:
- Embrace the consumer, not just the patient, as the focus of strategy and deployment of resources
- Market dynamics are creating disruptive consumer behaviors due to the changing way healthcare is selected, paid for and accessed
- Evaluate pricing and access based on your market conditions
- Consumers’ increased purchasing power will drive a proliferation of product options, price and quality transparency
- Consumer’s new preferences will demand more convenience, easier access and higher service expectations
Presenters:
- John Maher - Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer, Quorum
- Jeff Aber - Director, Strategy, Quorum
